The China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF) and tech giant Huawei Technologies Co Ltd signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing on Nov 12, which promises long-lasting benefits.
Zhou Changkui, chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the CDPF, and Yu Chengdong, Huawei's executive director and chairman of its terminal business group, witnessed the signing and delivered remarks.
Hu Xiangyang, vice-chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the CDPF, and Ning Shenglan, head of Huawei's terminal business group, signed the agreement on behalf of the two sides.
Zhou said the CDPF would leverage its strengths in identifying the needs of people with disabilities, providing real-world application scenarios and user feedback as well as facilitating technology adoption to enhance cooperation with tech giants such as Huawei and advance the development of assistive technologies.
Zhou expressed the hope that Huawei would continue to play a leading role in fulfilling corporate social responsibility by accelerating the development of assistive technologies and products and driving innovation and application of inclusive technologies. In this way, they will help create a better life for people with disabilities in the digital and intelligent era, Zhou added.
Experts from Huawei highlighted the value that the company's accessibility innovations bring to people with disabilities.
Moving forward, Huawei and the CDPF will deepen collaboration to explore and refine application scenarios for users with disabilities.
They will jointly advance technology R&D and product testing to address key challenges in assistive services — ensuring that people with disabilities enjoy the benefits of technological progress.
