BEIJING -- China's top political adviser Wang Yang has asked political advisors to understand the importance, urgency and long-term nature of continuous learning.

Learning concerns the progress of political advisers and the future of the cause of the CPPCC, while focusing on learning is a longstanding tradition and a significant task of the CPPCC, he noted.

Wang called on political advisers to enhance their political awareness by resolutely upholding the leadership of the CPC, and maintaining a clear mind and a correct stance regarding major issues of right and wrong.

Strengthening the guide through theories and widely building consensus should be a core principle of political advisers, who should also pay more attention to improving the quality and effectiveness of their work, he said.

Moreover, Wang asked political advisers to enhance their discipline by always fulfilling their duties within the law and the constitution of the CPPCC, and to improve their capabilities in political consultation.
