On Nov 29, 2019, Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with Nono Sampono, deputy speaker of the Regional Representative Council of Indonesia, in Beijing.

Ma said China and Indonesia have many common interests as they are both developing countries. Led by the strategies proposed by the leaders of both countries, China and Indonesia have seen rapid development in bilateral ties. China is willing to work with Indonesia to implement the consensus reached by the leaders, continue to deepen the integration of their respective development strategies, make joint efforts for the Belt and Road Initiative and promote bilateral ties and multifaceted cooperation to new levels. The CPPCC National Committee is willing to enhance cooperation and exchanges with the RRC of Indonesia and contribute to the development of bilateral ties.

Sampono said Indonesia values the friendly ties with China and is willing to take part in the Belt and Road Initiative and develop bilateral relations.
