President of Costa Rica meets with Bater

President of Costa Rica Carlos Alvarado Quesada met with a visiting Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee delegation led by Bater, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, on Dec 6, 2019 in the nation's capital San Jose.

Bater said that China and Costa Rica have witnessed steady development in bilateral ties since they established diplomatic relations 12 years ago and that China is willing to push forward practical collaborations in all areas to take up the opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative. Bater introduced the 70th anniversary of the founding of both the People's Republic of China and the CPPCC.

Alvarado highly spoke of the friendly ties between the two countries and expressed his congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. He said Costa Rica hopes to push forward the strategic partnership of the two countries by deepening bilateral cooperation with China in all fields in a practical manner and sticking to the one-China principle.

Bater also held talks with Carlos Benavides Jiménez, president of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica, and other legislators.
