On Jan 5, Chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee Yu Zhengsheng attended and addressed the meeting of heads of the united front work departments across the country.

On Jan 14, the Committee of Culture, History and Study of the CPPCC National Committee held a meeting to celebrate the establishment of the CPPCC committee of cultural and historical materials collection and Hong Kong cultural and historical compilation in the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R., discussing relevant topics on collecting historical documents on the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

At the invitation of the New Zealand government, the Parliament of Vanuatu and the Parliament of Singapore, Chen Yuan, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, led delegations to pay a goodwill visit to the three countries from Jan 15 to 25.

On Jan 16, the Committee of Culture, History and Study of the CPPCC National Committee held a meeting to celebrate the establishment of the CPPCC committee of cultural and historical materials collection and Macao cultural and historical compilation in the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R., discussing relevant topics on collecting historical documents on the 15th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland.

From Jan 18 to 27, Deputy Director of the Committee of Culture, History and Study of the CPPCC National Committee Long Xinmin led a delegation to conduct a special research on the topic of cultural heritage protection and utilization in Mexico and Peru.

On Feb 17, Chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee Yu Zhengsheng met with Vice-President of the Senate of Spain Juan Jose Lucas during the Spanish official's visit to China in the CPPCC auditorium.

On Feb 25, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Kamla Persad-Bissessar who visited China at the invitaion of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at the Great Hall of the People.

On March 5, the second session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee opened at the Great Hall of the People, hearing the government report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang.

On March 6, the first press conference of the second session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee was launched at the Great Hall of the People, with the theme being deepening reform and promoting the sustainable and healthy economic growth discussed by members of the CPPCC National Committee.

On March 12, the ceremony to commemorate the 89th anniversary of the death of Sun Yat-sen was held in the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall of Zhongshan Park in Beijing.

On April 2, Du Qinglin, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with a delegation from the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association in the United States headed by Yiu Ting Ng in Beijing.

On April 8, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with Namibia's Prime Minister Hage Geingob at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. 

On April 9, Lin Wenyi, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with the delegation of overseas Chinese from Chile in Beijing.

On April 10, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

On April 11, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with Laotian Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

On April 22, Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with a delegation of eminent South Korean women, headed by Li Peirong, dean of the Academy of Korean Studies who was invited to visit China by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, in Beijing.

On May 4, Li Haifeng, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with Lin Jiazhe, 15th and 16th president of the French Overseas Chinese Association.

On May 9, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with the delegation of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan on Asian and African issues at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

On May 9, Li Haifeng, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with Dhanin Chearavanont, chairman of Chia Tai Group and director of the China Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Association in Beijing.

On May 14, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, in Beijing.

On May 16, Ma Peihua, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee met with a delegation led by Ekwe Ethuro, the Speaker of the Senate of Kenya, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

From May 8 to 27, Peng Xiaofeng, deputy director of the Committee of Economic Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee, led a delegation to visit German, Hungary and Italy.

On May 22, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with the delegation from the friendship association of CPPCC members at the provincial level in Beijing. Yu welcomed the delegation, affirmed the contributions made by the association since its establishment. He shared hopes for the CPPCC members of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and listened to the opinions and suggestions of the members.

On May 22, Wang Qinmin, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with a visiting group composed of partners with National Party of Honduras, Frente Farabundo Martí of the Republic of El Salvador and the Patriotic Party in Guatemala.

On May 25, Qi Xuchun, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with Lucas Chomera, the first deputy chairperson of the Permanent Commission of the Assembly of the Republic, in Beijing.

At the invitation of the Canada-China Legislative Association and the U.S.-China Policy Foundation, Liu Xiaofeng, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee led delegations to pay a friendly visit Canada and the United States from May 27 to June 4.

On June 4, Zhang Qingli, vice-chairman and the secretary-general of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with Pekka Ravi, the first deputy speaker of the Finnish Parliament at the invitation of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.

From June 13 to 15, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, attended the sixth Strait Forum held in Xiamen, Fujian province and inspected the province during the period.

On June 19, Ma Biao, deputy head of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament and vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee met with the delegation of members of the parliament of the Liberty Korea Party to China during their visit to China at the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC.

On June 24, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with the delegation of the Social Democratic Party of Japan led by the party's leader Tadatomo Yoshida in Beijing.

On June 25, Chen Yuan, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee and member of the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate held a tele-conference with Jeremy Oppenheim, director of the new climate economy project of the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate in Beijing to exchange views on the latest draft of the global economic and climate report.

On July 7, Ma Peihua, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee and deputy head of the China-Oceania Friendship Association, attended and delivered a speech at the China Australia Economic Forum jointly held by the Chinese people's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Australia China Friendship Exchange Association in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.

On July 29, Li Haifeng, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with delegations led by Xia Longzhen, the first president of the European federation of overseas Chinese women, and Chen Yuanqing, the permanent honorary president of the Portuguese overseas Chinese association.

From Aug 8 to 16, Wan Gang, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, led a delegation of the committee to visit Poland, Hungary and Romania. 

At the invitation of the Chinese embassies in Russia, Switzerland and Belgium, Yu Linxiang, deputy director of Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese of the CPPCC National Committee, led a delegation to visit the overseas Chinese in the above three countries to listen to their opinions and suggestions on the work of overseas Chinese affairs from Aug 15 to 24.

From Aug 25 to 29, Deng Zongliang, deputy secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee and deputy director of the Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs of CPPCC, and Chen Guangyuan, deputy president of the China Committee on Religion and Peace and head of the China Islamic Association, led a delegation to attend the eighth Asian Conference of Religions for Peace in South Korea. 

On Aug 27, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with the Pakistan Peoples Party delegation headed by the party's co-chairman and former Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari in Beijing. 

At the invitation of the parliament of Kyrgyzstan and the Oman Consultative Council, a delegation of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee, led by Yang Duoliang deputy director of the committee, visited the two countries from Sept 11 to 18.

On Sept 19, Zhang Qingli, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee, met with a delegation of the New National Party of Grenada led by the country's deputy prime minister Elvin Nimrod in Beijing.

On Sept 19, Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee attended  and delivered speeches at the 9th Conference on ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in Chengdu, Sichuan province. Ma also met with foreign representatives including former Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

From Sept 21 to 30, Chen Jiping, deputy director of the Committee for Social and Legal Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee, led delegations to Sweden, Denmark and Germany, conducting research on the exploration of establishing a judicial jurisdiction system properly separated from administrative divisions.

From Sept 22 to 24, Han Qide, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, attended the activity of the International Day of Peace in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, and met with Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka Chamal Rajapaksa and former president of Bangladesh Hussain Muhammad Ershad.

On Sept 29, the State Council and the CPPCC National Committee held the symposium on commemorating the 100th anniversary of Comrade Gu Mu at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

On Sept 29, the CPPCC National Committee, the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a reception in celebration of the National Day in 2014.

On Oct 4, Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee attended the reception in celebration of the Corban Festival in 2014 held by the China Islamic Association.

From Oct 6 to 7, Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia Sok An, Vice-president of Myanmar Sai Mauk Kham, President of International Federation of Gymnastics Bruno Grandi and the federation's executive committee in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

On Oct 28, Luo Fuhe, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, and Chairman of the State Great Hural Zandaakhuu Enkhbold of Mongolia attended and addressed the reception in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Mongolia.

From Nov 1 to 10, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee visited Algeria, Morocco, Bahrain and Jordan at the invitation of the House of Nationalities of Algeria, Morocco's House of Councilors, the Bahrain Consultative Council and the Senate of Jordan.

From Nov 3 to 10, Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and deputy head of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament, led a delegation of the CPAPD to visit Azerbaijan and Turkey at the invitation of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Marmara Group Foundation of Turkey.

On Nov 11, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet who came to attend the APEC leaders' informal meeting and pay a working visit to China at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

From Nov 11 to 20, Du Qinglin, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, led a CPPCC delegation to visit Netherlands, Iceland and Greece at the invitation of the First Chamber of the Dutch Parliament, the Althing and the Hellenic Parliament.

On Nov 14, Zhang Qingli, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and secretary-general, met with Abdallah Oweidat, chairman of the Jordan-China Friendship Committee of the Jordanian Senate who was invited by the Foreign Affairs Committee to visit China. They exchanged views on China-Jordan relations, cooperation between the two institutions and other issues in Beijing.

On Dec 5, Zhang Qingli, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with a delegation of the Socialist Party of Ukraine, which was invited by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

At the invitation of the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense of the Federal Senate of Brazil and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico, Xu Zhenhuan, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC, led a delegation of the Committee for Foreign Affairs to visit Brazil and Mexico from Dec 6 to 14.

From Dec 8 to 17, Chen Xiaoguang, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, led a delegation of the CPPCC to visit Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia at the invitation of the Indonesian National People's Association, the Senate of Malaysia, and the Senate of Cambodia.

On Dec 11, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with a delegation led by Leopoldo Cintra Frías, minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

From Dec 14 to 20, Zhou Xiaochuan, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee and head of the Central Bank of China, accompanied Premier Li Keqiang to visit Kazakhstan, Serbia and Thailand. He attended the second regular meeting of Chinese and Kazakh prime ministers, the 13th meeting of the council of heads of government of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the third China CEEC summit and the fifth summit of Greater Mekong Sub-region Economic Cooperation.

On Dec 15, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee met with representatives of the overseas Chinese community at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing and delivered an impromptu speech. 

On Dec 16, Li Haifeng, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with Chinese-American businesswoman and publisher Florence Fang and Samuel Mok, former chief financial officer of the US Department of Labor.

On Dec 16, Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee and deputy head of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament, met with a delegation led by Khamphan Simmalavon, president of the Committee for Peace and Solidarity of Laos.

On Dec 19, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, met with a delegation led by former speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Yohei Kono, who is also chairman of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
