The CCTV Wuxi Movie/TV Base, a popular scenic area featuring Chinese ancient architectural design -- located in the Binhu district of Wuxi city in East China's Jiangsu province -- was recently named the best scenic area for families by online travel agency Lvmama.

The scenic area is where filming took place for the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Water Margin, two famous historical TV series adapted from classical works of literature. The Three Kingdoms Town and the Water Margin Town in the scenic area are the must-see sites.

Taking full advantage of its local features, the filming base rolled out a variety of events and shows to promote traditional Chinese culture and historical stories during the holidays, which attracted many families.

Walking through the scenic area, visitors can appreciate the classical architecture and scenes in the household novels and TV series, through which they can get a taste of ancient China.
