Scorching heat in August drives many to the waterside to enjoy the cool wind and escape the heat. Tangping Lake Wetland Park in Huishan district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, is pleasantly cool.

Tangping Lake Wetland Park, one of 10 wetland parks in Wuxi, spans an area of 117 hectares and is covered with lush plants, green grass, and blooming flowers.

Here, visitors can enjoy different varieties of lotus flowers at several lotus flower ponds and or take a rest at a pseudo-classic pavilion which can be found all over the wetland park.

Visitors can also play badminton, tennis, basketball or keep fit with fitness equipment at the Yuqi Culture and Sports Center in the wetland park.

The Yuqi Culture and Sports Center itself is a landmark building in Yuqi subdistrict. Its design was inspired by jade, giving it an elegant, gentle atmosphere.
