More than 320 teenagers from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region recently visited Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, to explore local culture.

The visit is part of a Ten Thousand Li Trip to the Chinese Mainland hosted by 13 Hong Kong youth uniformed groups aiming to increase their knowledge of the country's development, history and culture and improve their sense of national pride. Since its inception in 2002, the event has been attended by more than 7,000 Hong Kong teenagers.

At Wuxi Museum, they learned about Wuxi's profound culture and outstanding national industrial and commercial traditions. They also showed a strong interest in the purple clay art, which combines teapot making, tea ceremony, poetry, and seal cutting.

At Huishan Ancient Town, they got a glimpse of the traditional Jiangnan-style garden and were attracted by Huishan clay figurines, an intangible cultural heritage item in Wuxi which has become the city's most famous cultural calling card.
