SXU students shine at national student sports games

Shanxi University's students performed well in the 14th National Student Sports Games, which were held in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, from July 3 to 17.

The university sent 40 students and coaches to participate in swimming, track and field, and basketball competitions during the games. 

Among the athletes, Yang Chang, won the 100-meter and 50-meter breaststroke championships in the women's university group B category and set new records in both. 

The university's swimming team took fifth place in the men's group A 100-meter breaststroke, second place in the women's group B 200-meter backstroke, and fifth place in the women's group A 200-meter butterfly stroke. 

Jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Education, General Administration of Sport of China, and Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the games consisted of 10 major events and two sub-events, and were participated in by 14,000 athletes, coaches, and referees from 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, as well as the Macao Special Administrative Region.
