China's first single window for maritime transport, the Xiamen Maritime Single Window was officially launched on Dec 30.
The platform covers 101 functions in five major sections – business declarations, port dynamics, administrative inspections, operations services, and information services.
It addresses issues such as dispersed business data hindering the further improvement of the efficiency of ship entries and exits, repeated declarations of ship and cargo information and inadequate comprehensive support services.
The Xiamen Maritime Single Window focuses on the full process of ship entries and exits at ports, creating a virtuous interaction model between government departments and port and shipping enterprises characterized by efficient information transmissions, high data reuse and convenient maritime affairs.
It is the first domestic port-to-port ship information sharing service platform, enhancing the digital security capability of the single window in the entire process of ship transportation.
Earlier, the Facilitation Committee of the International Maritime Organization proposed that ports around the world should establish and use a maritime single window. The construction of the Xiamen Maritime Single Window is a crucial step for the Xiamen Free Trade Zone in deepening the construction of a digital port business environment, aligning with international high standards and promoting institutionalized openness.
