The ZIM Thailand docked at Xiamen International Container Terminal, marking the return of ZIM Integrated Shipping Services' ZXB e-commerce express to the United States' East Coast.
This relaunched route enhances Xiamen Port's global shipping network and creates a direct express lane across the Pacific, connecting e-commerce businesses in southeast China's coastal region with the US East Coast.
The ZXB route starts in Singapore, makes stops in Vietnam, and then calls at Shenzhen and Xiamen. After crossing the Panama Canal, it heads directly to Charleston, Savannah, New York, and Boston on the US East Coast. The service then returns to Singapore via the Cape of Good Hope, completing a weekly loop.
Cargo leaving Xiamen Port can reach US East Coast ports in as few as 27 days, with no transshipment needed. The route mainly serves cross-border e-commerce, new energy vehicle parts, yachts, machinery, and high-value consumer goods. It also handles compliant dangerous goods, refrigerated cargo, and special containers, meeting a wide range of shipping needs for the US East Coast market.
The route is planned to deploy nearly 10 large vessels, each with a capacity of 15,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), ensuring ample space and a stable sailing schedule. Compared with traditional routes to the US East Coast, the ZXB service cuts transit time by seven to 10 days. This will help global trade businesses save significantly on logistics costs.
