Xiamen Airlines launched a route Tokyo on August 6th, xmnn.cn reported.
The new route, with flight numbers MF829 and MF830, will fly on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Flight MF829 departs Xiamen at 10:00 am. and arrives at Tokyo Narita Airport at 14:45 after 3 hours and 45 minutes. The return flight MF830 takes off at 15:55 and arrives in Xiamen at 19:00, with a duration of 4 hours and 20 minutes.
Due to the increasing demand for travel to Japan, Xiamen Airlines has already launched Xiamen-Osaka and Fuzhou-Osaka routes and the load factors remain around at 80 percent. The load factors of the new route reached 95 percent on the first flight, of which 60% of passengers are tourists.
In addition, Xiamen Airlines is going to add charter flights connecting Fuzhou and Xiamen with Kumamoto and Nagasaki in Japan.
Tokyo Narita Airport is the biggest international airport in Japan. It is the first time for Xiamen Airlines to launch a direct flight to Tokyo.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
