Xiamen, Fujian province received a delegation from northern Vietnam's province of Quang Ninh, which is also Fujian’s sister province, from Dec 20 to 23.

The delegation was led by Dang Huy Heu, vice chairman of the Quang Ninh People's Committee, namely vice governor.

Han Jingyi, vice mayor of Xiamen, met with delegates and briefed them on the social and economic development of Xiamen on Dec 21. Han also expressed his wishes to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Vietnamese province.

During their stay in Xiamen, the delegates visited the Southeast China International Shipping Center, Jimei University and Gulangyu Island.

At the shipping center, the Vietnamese guests learned about the business model and preferential policies. At the Jimei University, the delegates held discussions with the university's officials about the possibilities of conducting academic exchanges and cooperation in logistics and tourism.

On their sightseeing tour to the Gulangyu Island, which was included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list, the delegates enjoyed a performance of Nanyin, a traditional opera in Fujian dialect.

They were impressed by the unique mixture of eastern and western architectural styles in the island. They said they will tell their friends about their experiences after getting back to Vietnam.
