A group of distinguished teachers from Chinese language and culture education sectors from 20 foreign countries visited Xiamen, Fujian province from Dec 21 to 22.
The delegates came from 20 different countries, including the US, France, Italy, Germany, the Philippines, New Zealand and Australia.
The purpose of their visit was to gain more knowledge on the development of Chinese language and culture education and teaching facilities.
The delegates were invited to the Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University. They visited the university's history museum.

After being briefed on various Chinese language and culture education programs offered by the university, He Zhenyu, director of the Chinese School Association in the US, said he was willing to promote the institute’s programs among US government officials.
After visiting the Huaqiao University, the delegation went to the Jimei Turtle Park, and toured the Gulangyu Island, which was recently included in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2017.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
