A delegation of six young officials from Brunei visited Xiamen from May 9 to 12 to explore the city's economic and social development.
A brief introduction to Xiamen's basic situation and friendly exchanges with Brunei was given by Kong Suting, deputy director of the Xiamen Friendship Association, during her meeting with the Brunei delegation on May 9.
She hoped that members of the delegation will help more Bruneians know about Xiamen.
These Bruneian officials confirmed that more efforts will be made to enhance the exchanges between Brunei and the Chinese coastal city.
They were impressed by the Chinese city's achievements in economic and social development and also its environmental protection.
During their stay in Xiamen, the delegation also visited the Xiamen Free Trade Zone and Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park.
In order to strengthen the people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding between Brunei and China, Chinese Embassy in Brunei organized officials from Brunei's key departments to visit China in May this year.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
