A roadshow and promotional conference for Russian projects was held by the innovation base for the BRICS partnership on new industrial revolution in Xiamen and the Skolkovo Innovation Center, also known as the Silicon Valley of Russia, on Nov 3.
Heads of eight Russian scientific innovation projects that have been seeking cooperation in China introduced their projects and answered questions from representatives of Chinese institutions online.
To facilitate communication between businesses in BRICS countries and promote cooperation in advantageous industries, the BRICS innovation base had translated the project introductions provided by the Russian side into Chinese, so that the Chinese companies can better learn about the projects.
The Skolkovo Innovation Center has attached great importance to deepening cooperation with the BRICS innovation base in Xiamen, said Yuri Saprykin, vice-president of Skolkovo Foundation, during his address to the conference.
The center expects the two sides to accelerate the pace of cooperation and communication to help Chinese and Russian entrepreneurs set up their operations and expand their footprint.
Since construction of the BRICS innovation base started on Dec 8, 2020, Xiamen has played an active role in promoting scientific and technological innovation cooperation among BRICS countries.
The city has carried out 26 measures to stimulate cooperation among BRICS countries in policy coordination, talent training and project development.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
