A launch ceremony for the short video contest "Fu Culture to the World" was held on July 21 at Xiamen University in the coastal city of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province.
Chen Qincan, deputy director general of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee's publicity department said during the ceremony that "Fu"(福), which means blessings, has been the relentless pursuit of Chinese people since ancient times.
He added that Fujian is the only province in China that has the Chinese character fu in its name and boasts rich Fu culture.

The contest will continue to organize international students and overseas Chinese in Fujian to tour across the province, deepen their understanding of Fujian and China by learning more about Fu culture, and tell the stories of Fu culture to the rest of the world from their own perspectives.
The contest will run for a year, and all the entries are expected to be posted on the participants' overseas social media accounts, as well as the Fujian channel of Xuexi Qiangguo - a mobile app run by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the overseas social media accounts of Fujian Media Group, and many other media platforms.
