In 2022, Xiamen's gross domestic product reached 780.27 billion yuan ($114.47 billion), up 4.4 percent year-on-year, 1.4 percentage points higher than the nation's average.
The added value of enterprises above designated size hit 245.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.3 percent.
Last year, Xiamen's investment in fixed assets reached 297.11 billion yuan, up 10.2 percent year-on-year, and 5.2 and 2.7 percentage points higher than that of Fujian province and the nation, respectively.
At the same time, retail sales grew 3.1 percent year-on-year, reaching 266.54 billion yuan, and 3.3 percentage points higher than that of the nation.
As for foreign trade, the volume in 2022 stood at 922.56 billion yuan, up 4 percent year-on-year. Last year, trade with BRICS and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative increased 29.9 percent and 12 percent, respectively.
During the same period, Xiamen's per capita disposable income reached 6,799.9 yuan, up 5.7 percent year-on-year, and the urban per capita disposable income and rural per capita disposable income hit 7,046.7 yuan and 3,232.3 yuan, respectively, a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent and 8.1 percent.
Furthermore, the overall employment was stable in 2022, as 176,900 new jobs were created in urban areas, 42,900 of the unemployed people returned to the workplace, and 78,100 college graduates found jobs.

China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
