The first Xiamen China-Philippines concert took place at Jimei Youth Palace on March 21 in Xiamen, Fujian province. It presented various performances to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Philippines and to promote their cultural exchanges.
The event consisted of 10 performances from the four chapters of "National Treasures", "Meeting Friends with Music", "Trends of the Times", and "Towards the Future", and included Chinese drum dances and traditional Filipino folk dances. In addition, Beautiful night in Jimei and other original songs with local characteristics were staged to showcase the vitality and charm of Jimei and enable Chinese and foreign guests to further understand the city through music.
Artists from both China and the Philippines not only performed their own music, but also collaborated on the same stage to perform each other's classic repertoires and engage in exchanges.
Based in Jimei and radiating into the ASEAN countries, the ASEAN Culture and Art Exchange Center has hosted over 20 large-scale international exchange activities since its establishment in Jimei in 2017, aiming to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
In the future, Jimei plans to advance the comprehensive development of the music industry and implement multiple music industry integration bases.
