Xiamen-Izmir exhibition marks 5th anniversary of sister-city ties
A photo exhibition celebrating the fifth anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relations between Xiamen city and Izmir in Turkiye kicked off at the Xiamen Metro Lyucuo Station on April 18.
The exhibition, themed on "Seaside, Sunshine and Beyond", features 64 photos that showcase the natural beauty, urban development and cultural diversity of the two coastal cities.
Lin Na, vice-president of the Xiamen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the opening ceremony.
She said that the photo exhibition was a new platform for people-to-people exchanges and mutual trust between Xiamen and Izmir. She hoped the cities would further promote practical cooperation in various fields and contribute to the friendship between China and Turkiye.
Derya Arslandedikli, the Culture and Tourism Counselor at the Turkish Embassy in China, sent a video message of congratulations. She said that Turkiye had rich and diverse tourism resources and was the third-largest tourist destination in the world. She invited Chinese tourists to visit her country and work together for the sustainable development of tourism.
The photo exhibition at Lyucuo Station will run to May 4 and then move to other venues in Xiamen. It is being held simultaneously in Izmir.
