Xiamen, Cardiff boost educational exchanges
A delegation from the Cardiff and Vale College – a leading public school situated in Cardiff, the capital of Wales in the United Kingdom – visited the city of Xiamen city on April 23-24.
Its aim was to boost educational exchanges and cooperation between the two sister cities.
The delegation was led by Alun Rees, international director of programs at the college and Fan Kunbo, the college's China development manager.
They held a tripartite meeting with officials from the Xiamen Foreign Affairs Office and Xiamen City University on April 24.
On the agenda was exploring ways to advance vocational education collaboration between the two schools on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relations between Xiamen and Cardiff.
Yu Hao, deputy director general of the Xiamen Foreign Affairs Office and Tang Ning, principal of Xiamen City University, attended the meeting.
Yu said that the Xiamen Foreign Affairs Office would fully leverage its foreign affairs resources and channels to accurately match the actual needs of Xiamen's schools and enterprises.
