Expat students from Peking University explore Xiamen
A group of 26 international students from Peking University visited Xiamen in East China's Fujian province for a two-day youth exchange program from June 30 to July 1.
The students came from eight countries, including the United States, the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Nigeria and Argentina.
During their visit, they learned about Xiamen's economic and social development, cultural heritage and cross-Strait relations through various activities.
At Gulangyu Island, the students got to know about the protection of its cultural heritage, enjoyed puppet shows and organ performances, delighting in the charms of the "Island of Music".
Yao Jianhong, deputy director general of the Xiamen Foreign Affairs Office, met the visitors and briefed them on Xiamen's achievements in economic development, scientific innovation and foreign exchanges.
He expressed his hope that the visit would enhance mutual understanding and friendly exchange among young people from different countries and regions, as well as consolidate the foundations of cultural cooperation.
