Xiamen Party chief meets Laos delegation
Cui Yonghui, secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, met with a delegation from Laos on Aug 8 led by Sommad Pholsena, vice-president of the National Assembly of Laos – in Xiamen city, located in East China's Fujian province.
"Through the visit, I experienced the tremendous achievements that Fujian province and Xiamen city have made in economic and social development," Sommad Pholsena said.
"Laos and Xiamen have great potential for cooperation and we invite more Xiamen enterprises to invest and start businesses in Laos, promoting the landing of more projects and taking our friendly relationship to a new level," he added.
Cui extended a warm welcome to the visitors and gave them an introduction on Xiamen's economic and social developments.
Cui added that his city would join hands with Laos to deeply integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as to continue to expand their exchanges and cooperation – contributing to the overall consolidation of traditional Sino-Laos friendship.
Xiamen Party chief meets Singapore delegation
Cui Yonghui, secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, met Singapore Ambassador to China Peter Tan and his delegation on Aug 8.
Cui extended a warm welcome and talked about Xiamen's economic and social developments, as well as exchanges and trade and investment with Singapore.
"We are organizing the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade and welcome members of Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Beijing and Singaporean enterprises to attend the grand event," Cui added.
Ambassador Tan said that Singapore and Xiamen shared a long history, with their close relationship a microcosm of the friendly relations between the two countries.
He also called on Xiamen enterprises to invest in Singapore and to regard Singapore as a gateway to expand their presence in the Southeast Asian market.
During their visit in Xiamen, delegation members visited the Fujian (Xiamen)-Singapore Friendship Polyclinic, Xiamen University, and Gulangyu Island, among others.
Xiamen deepens links with Japanese airline
Zhang Quan, director general of the Xiamen Foreign Affairs Office, met with a delegation led by Nakahara Shinji – general manager of Japanese All Nippon Airways Co Ltd in China – on Aug 9 in Xiamen city.
Zhang talked about the 25 years of history of ANA's Xiamen branch, thanking the airline for its long-term support in Fujian and for its help in Xiamen's exchanges with Japan.
He called on ANA to leverage its advantages in terms of cooperation in commerce and trade to expand and strengthen the freight business, as well as contribute to friendly Sino-Japanese relations.
Nakahara thanked Xiamen for its long-standing support of the airline in the city, especially during the COVID-19 period.
He also noted that every chief of ANA attached great importance to exchanges with China and the extension of the friendship tradition.
Through the visit, Nakahara said he learned that Xiamen was a high-quality and attractive city, as well as an important city for communications and cooperation with Japan.
The ANA executive said he would promote the early resumption of passenger routes between Xiamen and Japan, as well as promote commerce and trade between the two.
