Photo exhibition held to celebrate friendship city relationships
The Xiamen Friendship City Photo Exhibition 2023 Celebrating the Anniversaries of Friendship City Relationships opened in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on Sept 8.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Xiamen's friendship city relationships with Cardiff in the United Kingdom and Sasebo in Japan, the 30th anniversary with Penang in Malaysia, the 20th anniversary with Guadalajara in Mexico, the 10th anniversary with Dushanbe in Tajikistan, and the fifth anniversary with Izmir in Turkiye.
The photo exhibition displays the cultural customs and exchanges of the seven cities.
Chen Zixuan, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Xiamen People's Congress, said that the city has over the past four decades made significant progress in forging closer ties with international cities.
International friendship city relationships play an active role in promoting the internationalization of a city and boosting its development, she added.
