Chief minister of Penang visits Xiamen to attend 23rd CIFIT
Chow Kon Yeow, chief minister of Penang, led a delegation of 22 people on a visit to Xiamen, where they attended activities related to the 23rd CIFIT, from Sept 7 to 9.
They also participated in the Xiamen Friendship City Photo Exhibition 2023 Celebrating the Anniversaries of Friendship City Relationships.
Chow stated that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relations between Penang Island in the State of Penang and Xiamen. He hopes to use the CIFIT as a platform to deepen cooperation in various fields with Fujian under the Belt and Road Initiative.
During the visit to Xiamen, the delegation visited Xiamen King Long Motor Group to learn about the application of the company's new public transportation products and technologies. They also learned about the company's autonomous bus and gained new insights regarding public transportation.
In addition, the delegation visited the Gulangyu History and Culture Exhibition Hall and Piano Museum to promote exchanges between the two sides in the protection of world cultural heritage.
