Delegation from East Java province, Indonesia visits Xiamen
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and to promote exchange between China and Indonesia, China's Consulate General in Indonesia's Surabaya invited Mr Nyono, director of the transportation department of East Java province, Mr Ramliyanto, director of the HR department, and their delegation of five people to visit Xiamen from Oct 11 to 12.
Lin Na, vice-president of the Xiamen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, met with the delegation on Oct 11.
During the meeting, Lin spoke about the economic and social development of Xiamen and recounted the history of friendly exchanges between Xiamen and Surabaya. She expressed hope that both sides will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
Mr. Nyono said that the construction achievements of Xiamen left a deep impression on him and that he is looking forward to enhancing exchanges between Xiamen and East Java province in the areas of public transportation system construction, new energy vehicles, and the cultivation of university teachers and students.
During their stay in Xiamen, the delegation also visited Xiamen University and discussed topics such as industrial design, new energy, and interschool student exchanges with experts and scholars from Xiamen University.
The delegation then visited Gulangyu Island to learn about Xiamen's efforts in protecting its cultural heritages.
