Central Java delegation visits Xiamen
Riena Retnaningrum, director of the Information and Communication Bureau of Central Java province, Indonesia, led a delegation of officials and media representatives to Xiamen for exchanges from Dec 14 to 16.
During the visit, the delegation held discussions with the faculties and students of the School of International Relations and Research School for Southeast Asian Studies, Xiamen University, learning about basic information and academic research achievements.
The delegation also promoted the tourism and culture of Central Java, and expressed hope that both sides can further cooperate in areas such as student exchanges, science and technology.
At the Chinese Language and Culture College of Huaqiao University, the delegation held a meeting with Indonesian students attending the Chinese language learning program for foreign government officials and Indonesian students majoring in Chinese education.
During the visit to Xiamen Yunzhixin Intelligence Technology Co Ltd, the delegation learned about voice interaction, smart connection and cognitive process of decision-making solutions in scenarios such as healthcare, home and education.
The delegation also visited Jimei School Village and Gulangyu Island, where they learned about the historical connections between Minnan culture, or Hokkien culture, and Southeast Asia, as well as the achievements in cultural heritage preservation in Xiamen.
The members of the media delegation said they were highly impressed by Xiamen's openness and modernity. They also pledged to share what they saw in Xiamen with others so that more Indonesians could learn about the coastal city.
