Xiamen, Japan extend good relations
Zhuang Rongliang, vice mayor of Xiamen, met with Kijima Yoshiko, consul general of Japan in Guangzhou and her delegation.
Zhuang welcomed the delegation and said that Xiamen cherishes long-standing exchanges with Japan in such areas as commerce, trade, culture tourism and education.
As early as 1983, Xiamen became a sister city with Sasebo in Japan. At present, there are several representative Japanese-funded enterprises in Xiamen, which are understood to be showing a positive development trend.
Zhuang added that Xiamen adopts a pro-quality development strategy and seeks to expand high-standard opening up. There is still enormous potential for future economic and trade cooperation with Japan.
Kijima Yoshiko said that Xiamen has a good foundation for industrial development, a leading edge in its openness and a superb business environment.
She hoped that Xiamen and Japan will continue to strengthen exchanges, deepen friendly relations and enhance their peoples' well-being.
