Romenio Pereira, secretary of International Relations of the Workers' Party of Brazil (PT), led a delegation of 25 senior PT officials to visit Xiamen from April 13 to 15.
Huang Wenhui, mayor of Xiamen, met and exchanged views with the delegation. He welcomed the delegation's choice of visiting Xiamen directly after leaving Beijing, and introduced the city's economic and social development.
Huang expressed Xiamen's willingness to work with the PT to implement important consensus by leaders of both countries, deepen exchanges and cooperation, strengthen mutual learning, and make new and greater contributions to the development of friendly relations between China and Brazil.
Pereira expressed his gratitude for the warm reception in Xiamen. He hopes that this visit will serve as an opportunity to deepen and expand cooperation between Brazil and Xiamen in the areas of ecological protection, think tank exchanges, and technological innovation within the framework of the BRICS cooperation mechanism.
During the visit to Xiamen, the delegation visited various places, such as the exhibition hall of BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center.
The members of the delegation expressed that their visit to Xiamen was enriching and rewarding. They not only gained insights into Xiamen's achievements in scientific innovation and ecological practices, but also identified opportunities for cooperation in related fields.
