Xiamen mayor meets Workers' Party of Brazil delegation
A 25-member senior cadre delegation from the Workers' Party of Brazil (PT) visited Xiamen city, Southeast China's Fujian province from April 13 to 15.
Huang Wenhui, deputy secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and mayor of Xiamen, met with the delegation led by Romenio Pereira, secretary of International Relations of the PT on April 13.
Huang said that this year marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, as well as the 40th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the CPC and the PT.
Huang added that Xiamen is willing to work with the PT to deepen exchanges and cooperation, strengthen mutual learning and make greater contributions to the development of China-Brazil friendly relations in the new era.
Pereira expressed his hope that the visit would serve as an opportunity to deepen and expand cooperation between Brazil and Xiamen in areas such as environmental and ecological protection, think tank exchanges and technological innovation, within the framework of the BRICS cooperation mechanism.
