Delegation from Brazil's Iguassu city visits Xiamen
An official delegation from the city of Iguassu in Brazil visited Xiamen on April 22.
Lin Na, vice-president of the Xiamen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, met with the delegation and discussed potential areas of cooperation between the two cities.
During the meeting, Lin introduced Xiamen's economic and social development to the delegation, as well as the construction of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center.
She highlighted the close exchanges between Xiamen and Iguassu since the establishment of friendly relations in 2013, particularly in the fields of trade, tourism, culture and sports.
Lin hoped that Iguassu would continue to send delegations to Xiamen to participate in international events such as investment fairs, tourism expos and marathons.
She also emphasized the potential for mutual learning and cooperation in areas such as the eco-system environment and football training, with the overall aim to deepen and consolidate the relationship between the two cities.
The Iguassu guests thanked Xiamen for their warm reception and said they admired the achievements made during the construction of Xiamen Special Economic Zone, as well as the city's best practice in building an ecological civilization.
The guests called on both sides to combine their respective strengths and specialized industries to bolster more practical cooperation that will benefit the people of both cities.
