On May 6, Xiamen, as one of the 20 pilot cities for the implementation of new policies by the National Immigration Administration (NIA), implemented five new policies.
These five policies include: "Fully Online Application" for issuing and renewing entry and exit documents; implementing "Smart and Nationwide Processing" for business endorsements in Hong Kong and Macao; extending the stay period in Hong Kong and Macao for individuals holding business endorsements from seven days to 14 days; issuing multiple-entry "Other" category endorsements for one year for travel to Macao; and allowing participants in the "Hengqin-Macao Tourist Group" to make multiple trips between Hengqin and Macao.
After the implementation of these new policies, Xiamen residents over the age of 16 (excluding national government officials and active-duty military personnel) can now log in to the NIA's government service platform (official website, app, WeChat, and Alipay) at any time to apply online.
They only need to enter personal information, upload required documents, and easily complete the process. The documents will then be delivered to their homes after processing.
The implementation of the new "Smart and Nationwide Processing" policy will also benefit nearly 200 registered enterprises in the city to apply for multiple business endorsements.
Now, applicants can obtain endorsements at any public security entry and exit window nationwide, and eligible applicants can also use self-service smart endorsement devices to process multiple business endorsements.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
