On June 17, The Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS) released the China City International Image Assessment Report, in which Xiamen was selected as a leading city in terms of international image.
The report formulates the City International Image Index (CII) based on five dimensions: influence in international media, dissemination power of overseas new media matrix, attention from overseas netizens, development of city overseas communication websites, and development of international city networks. The evaluation comprehensively assessed the international image of 337 Chinese cities.
Xiamen, known as the "Garden on the Sea", boasts picturesque scenery and a pleasant climate. It is one of the first cities to be recognized as a "Top Tourist City of China." Additionally, Xiamen is celebrated as a "City of High-Quality Innovation and Entrepreneurship" and a "City of High Aesthetic Ecological Garden."
The overseas new media matrix "Visit Xiamen" leverages various social media platforms such as Facebook, X, and TikTok to showcase Xiamen's rich cultural and tourism attractions. This allows global audiences to appreciate Xiamen's unique tourism advantages and urban charm from multiple perspectives.
Xiamen enjoys advantageous transit policies such as "24-hour direct transit without border inspection procedures" and "144-hour visa-free transit for foreigners", making it a top choice for many inbound travelers.
Xiamen welcomes people from around the world to experience the beauty of life in this "Cultural Center, City of Arts and Island of Music".
Leaders of China and Malaysia support the ongoing efforts on visa exemption to promote friendly relations, a joint statement on deepening the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership said on June 20.
China will include Australia in the list of unilateral visa-free countries, Premier Li Qiang said on June 17.
