The Piaui-Xiamen Business Matchmaking Event and the opening ceremony of Investe Piaui Xiamen Representative Office were held at Sea World in Xiamen on Oct 14.
Nearly 150 representatives from the government of Piaui State in Brazil, the Xiamen Free Trade Zone Administration Committee, and other entities participated in the event.
The Piaui Investment Promotion Agency and the Xiamen FTZ Administration Committee exchanged information on the investment environment and key industries of Piaui and Xiamen FTZ, with representatives from both sides engaging in enthusiastic discussions.
Rafael Tajra Fonteles, governor of the State of Piaui, stated that China has become Brazil's largest trading partner. The establishment of the Xiamen Representative Office will open up opportunities for bilateral exchanges and cooperation between Brazil and Xiamen in various fields such as economy, trade, culture, technology, and education.
The Xiamen Representative Office is located at the Maritime Silk Road International Legal and Commercial Integration Service Base. It is the first foreign enterprise resident representative office approved by a BRICS country local government in Xiamen since the establishment of the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center.
The representative office will serve as a platform for friendly exchanges and win-win cooperation between Chinese investors and the Piaui government and businesses. It aims to connect Piaui with Xiamen and the entire Asian market, serving as a bridge to help both sides move towards global cooperation.
