Xiamen hosts cultural exchange program on math education
On Oc 16, the Sixth Friendly Cultural Exchange Program, focusing on a training project for high-school math teachers in Brazil and Indonesia, was launched in Xiamen in Southeast China's Fujian Province.
Jointly organized by the Xiamen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Huaqiao University, the event attracted a total of 3,070 math teachers from middle or high schools in Brazil and 217 math teachers from high schools in Indonesia.
The organizers stated that this training program serves as an opportunity to implement the Global Civilization Initiative and to deepen exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign teachers in order to contribute to the development of global math education.
The project is designed to improve the quality of high school math education, update teaching philosophies, and enhance teaching skills. Leveraging the excellent teaching staff from the School of Mathematical Sciences at Huaqiao University, a series of specialized online training courses will be conducted over a period of 10 weeks.
