The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Xiamen held the Reception on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Thailand's Father's Day on Dec 3.
The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, a milestone celebrated as the "Golden 50 Years of China-Thailand Friendship".
In her address, Sasarak Sasivanij, consul general of Royal Thai in Xiamen, noted that China has remained Thailand's largest trading partner for over a decade, and bilateral cooperation has expanded continuously from transportation infrastructure and traditional commerce to cutting-edge fields such as AI, the digital economy, aerospace, and smart logistics.
She added that from business collaborations and cultural exchanges to academic interactions, vivid examples witnessed the friendship between the two countries in Xiamen.
This year, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Xiamen also hosted the first Thailand Festival in Xiamen and Quanzhou, aiming to share Thai culture, cuisine, and the warmth of the Thai people.
In recent years, the two sides have carried out practical cooperation in areas such as industrial investment, sister-city exchanges, port logistics, and cultural education, achieving impressive results.
Additionally, they have jointly organized multiple economic, trade, and cultural exchange events in Xiamen, including the China (Fujian)-Thailand Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Dec 1, allowing Chinese nationals to enter Russia visa-free for tourism or business purposes for a period not exceeding 30 days, based on the principle of reciprocity.
The National Immigration Administration's online arrival card system for international travelers took effect on Nov 20, when Xiamen Port greeted the first group of foreign travelers utilizing the system.
