iNew Medicine, an international English-language academic journal hosted by AHMU and co-published with Wiley, passes rigorous evaluation and enters the prestigious DOAJ database.

Launched in May 2003 by Lund University Libraries in Sweden along with the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC), DOAJ is one of the world's most influential open-access journal search platforms. Recognized alongside SCI, Scopus, EI, and PubMed, it serves as a cornerstone of the global academic indexing system.

DOAJ enforces strict entry standards, conducting comprehensive evaluations of a journal's peer-review integrity, publishing ethics, copyright licensing frameworks, and full-text open-access infrastructure. Inclusion in DOAJ allows the journal's metadata to sync across library systems and major academic search engines globally, significantly enhancing international visibility and ensuring barrier-free access to its research output.

iNew Medicine is co-edited by Professor Weng Jianping, AHMU president, and Professor Y. Eugene Chen from the University of Michigan. Its editorial board comprises 55 distinguished scholars spanning 13 countries and regions. The journal focuses on the latest developments in biomedicine, clinical medicine, interdisciplinary medicine, and translational medicine, covering key areas such as artificial intelligence, gene editing, precision medicine, regenerative medicine, brain-computer interfaces, and biomaterials. It aims to build an integrated, high-end international platform connecting basic research, clinical applications, and industrial conversion. During its initial phase, the journal is waiving all article processing charges (APCs) in order to prioritize high-quality original research.

Marking a new milestone as AHMU reaches its centenary, iNew Medicine will leverage this indexing to better align with international open-access standards. By upholding strict publishing ethics, enhancing editorial quality, and attracting top-tier global submissions, the journal will strengthen AHMU's academic disciplines, talent development, and international scientific exchanges — contributing to the university's "Double First-Class" initiative.
