In 1994, GDP of BDA was only 100 million yuan. While in 2019, it has soared to 193.28 billion yuan, up by 8.9 percent YOY, and 2.8 percentage points higher than that of the whole city.

The share of output of every one among the four pillar industries of BDA in the total output of industries above designated size are all double digits.

Output of automobile and transportation equipment industry stood at 196.72 billion yuan, accounting for 47 percent of the total.

Output of bioengineering and pharmaceutical industry was 51.09 billion yuan, 12.2 percent of the total.

Output of electronic and information industry was 86.17 billion yuan, 20.6 percent of the total.

Industrial output of equipment manufacturing was 53.69 billion yuan, 12.8 percent of the total.

As the above figures are climbing, BDA has taken up a leading position among the 219 national economic and technological development zones. In the "2019 General Assessment Results of National Economic Development Zones" published by Ministry of Commerce, BDA ranked the fourth in China.

Supported by scientific research and innovation, high-tech industries have been developing vigorously. BDA outperforms other districts in the city in number of utility patents per 10,000 people.
