At a recent meeting the Economic Development Bureau announced a "good start" to economic operations in the first quarter, and issued the 13th "Beijing E-Town Innovation Release List".

In the first quarter of this year, the total output value of industries above designated size in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) reached 139.8 billion yuan ($21.56 billion), a year-on-year increase of 47.4 percent, in which the four leading industries compiled a total industrial output value of 127.95 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 48.9 percent.

Preliminary statistics show that fixed asset investment in the first quarter increased by 24 percent year-on-year.

In the first quarter, the anti-fibrosis drug "TDI01" developed by Tide Pharmaceuticals achieved a "ground-zero breakthrough" in China's independent research and development of such medicines, and set a new record in the foreign authorized transaction value among China's oral small molecule drugs.

The output value of Tide Pharmaceuticals in the first quarter was 676 million yuan, an increase of 114 percent over the same period in 2020.

Besides, 84 products from 52 companies in the BDA were selected into the "Beijing New Technology and New Products List" In the first quarter alone.

The 2021 Beijing E-Town Innovation Release List 2021 records corporate innovation development and growth target investment. 

It covers 22 innovative technology products of 14 key enterprises in the four leading industries, including 19 products and three technologies. 

It also lists companies with financing needs of over 400 million yuan to be applied in such projects as CT photon detectors, medium-voltage dynamic voltage recovery device DVR research and development, and digital factory solutions.

The Beijing E-Town Innovation Release Conference was held in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) on April 14.

The conference has been successfully held for two years. In its past two editions it has helped 183 companies promote 187 new products or meet new technology cooperation needs, and publicized 436 talent requirements for 153 hi-tech firms. 

According to preliminary statistics, 3.22 billion yuan ($496.17 million) of financing has been completed so far.

At the press conference, three companies in the BDA, namely Huaqing Kesheng, Qcubic Technology, and SinoVision, released a batch of innovative results for the first time.

"With a good environment, services and stage, BDA provides a platform for enterprises to promote themselves," said Luo Bin, chairman of Beijing Qcubic Technology Co., Ltd. 

Two months ago, the company signed a contract to settle in BDA's Xinchuang Park.
