The China National Intellectual Property Administration just issued a list of the 22nd China Patent Awards, and seven projects of five enterprises in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) made their mark on it.

Innovation has become the shining "business card" of the BDA. In the first quarter of this year, BDA enterprises obtained 2,116 patent authorizations, a year-on-year increase of 75.89 percent.

In the pre-winning project of the China Patent Silver Awards, BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd.'s "OLED Display Device and Its Packaging Method" is on the list.

Among the pre-winning projects of the Silver Awards for China Appearance Design, Beijing JD Qianshi Technology Co., Ltd.'s "Unmanned Delivery Vehicle" is listed.

Among the pre-winning projects of the China Patent Excellence Awards, BDA’s Beijing Electric Vehicle Company’s "Quick Control System of the Electric Vehicle Battery Pack", "Control Method, Device and Electric Vehicle of the On-board Two-way Charger Working Mode", "An Improved Anti-VEGFR-2 Monoclonal Antibody" of Eastern Biotech Co., Ltd., "A Display Panel and Display Device" of BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd., and five projects of "A Microfluidic Chip and Its Application Projects" belonging to CapitalBio Technology Co., Ltd. were also listed.

Cancer is currently one of the diseases that seriously threaten human life and health. The "An Improved Anti-VEGFR-2 Monoclonal Antibody" declared by Eastern Biotech provides a broad-spectrum treatment for solid tumors, and has already been implemented and taken to market.

There are many companies in the BDA similar to Eastern Biotech. According to statistics, in the first quarter of 2021, enterprises in the BDA obtained a total of 2,116 patent authorizations, a year-on-year increase of 75.89 percent, of which 578 were invention patents, a year-on-year increase of 107.91 percent. 

A total of 145 PCT patent applications were filed, a year-on-year increase of 47.96 percent. As of the end of March 2021, enterprises in the BDA had obtained a total of 9763 valid invention patents.
