BDA launches multiplication plan for hi-tech firms
The Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) unveiled its "Five-Year Multiplication Plan of Echelon Cultivation" at the Beijing E-Town Innovation Release Conference on May 26. The plan envisions an innovative flying geese formation system in the BDA.
As the BDA is the main platform for Beijing's construction of an international science and technology innovation center, innovation entities there have been growing in number.
During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" (2016-20) period, the number of state-level high-tech enterprises in the BDA exceeded 1,200, which was 2.2 times that of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" (2011-15) period.
In 2020, there were 543 effective invention patents for every 10,000 people in the BDA, the leading ratio in Beijing.
Up to now, the BDA has cultivated five unicorn enterprises, four individual champions in the manufacturing industry, and 48 outstanding giant enterprises in Beijing, of which 37 have won the national level of outstanding giant companies.
There are 130 outstanding enterprises in Beijing, 489 Zhongguancun Gazelle enterprises, 235 Zhongguancun Wing Spreading firms and 94 Zhongguancun "Golden Seed" companies.
The BDA is striving to double the total number of innovative echelon companies from the end of 2020 to the end of 2025, according to the person in charge of the BDA.
At the innovation release conference, Wang Wei, vice president of the BDA branch of the China Construction Bank, brought a feature credit loan service for SMEs that will be launched soon. The loans will be available specifically for companies that have obtained the title of "outstanding firm" from national or provincial industry and information departments.
Besides, the launch event also announced the fourteenth Beijing E-Town Innovation Release List in 2021, including the Enterprise Innovation Development List and the Growth Target Investment List.
The Enterprise Innovation Development List covers four new technologies and includes three firms in each of the four leading industries; the Growth Target Investment List displays enterprises' high-quality projects with good growth potential that are expected to attract investment from the capital market.
