8th International Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology Conference held in BDA

The Eighth International Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology Annual Conference opened in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) on May 25.

On this world-class technology exchange platform, domestic and foreign experts and business representatives in the field of intelligent networked vehicles gather together to exchange ideas on how to promote the development of China's intelligent networked automobile industry.

Kong Lei, deputy director of the BDA's Administrative Committee, made a keynote speech at the conference.

Kong pointed out that the BDA will introduce a series of policies that are more conducive to the development of enterprises and the application of industrial scenes.

At the opening ceremony, the construction progress of Beijing's high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone was also announced. The construction tasks of stage 1.0 of the demonstration zone have basically been completed. 

Within one month of the approval of the Intelligent Connected Vehicles Policy Pilot Zone, 112 vehicles from Pony.ai, Baidu, Didi and other companies have been issued road test notices in the pilot zone, which will be utilized in morning and evening peak times and at night.

Based on the progress and breakthroughs made in the construction of Beijing's high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone and the intelligent networked vehicle policy pilot zone, the pilot version of the "Implementation Rules for the Management of Unmanned Delivery Vehicles" formulated by the BDA zone was also released at the opening ceremony.

The rules grant vehicle codes for the first unmanned delivery vehicles, solving the problem that unmanned delivery vehicles cannot be compliant with current laws and regulations.

At the opening ceremony, the BDA also announced a list of 20 scenario opportunities in three categories that have been researched and screened, as well as supporting policies, and invited industry institutions and enterprises to participate in innovating intelligent networked vehicle scenarios.

This annual conference is co-sponsored by the China Society of Automotive Engineers, the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology Innovation Center, the Suzhou Automotive Research Institute of Tsinghua University, and the BDA. 

The annual meeting lasts for 3 days, focusing on key technologies of automobile intelligence and networking, artificial intelligence technology, safety technology, high-precision map and positioning technology, electronic and electrical architecture technology, vehicle-road collaboration (V2X) theory and application, testing and evaluation technology, technical standards and regulations, and related issues. 

The conference also set up two theme summits, 11 thematic branch meetings, and one round table dialogue. 

More than 100 famous experts and corporate technology leaders in the industry were invited to give speeches, and over 400 related industry chain upstream and downstream enterprises and institutions as well as more than 1,300 professional guests participated in the exchange meeting.
