2021 "E-Town College" officially opened on June 10.
The event was guided by the Ministry of Publicity and Culture of the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) Working Committee, hosted by Shangyicheng (Beijing) Technology and Culture Group Co., Ltd., and undertaken by Shilculture, the pioneer of Chinese cultural video programs.
The college is bringing the country's first series of lectures on the frontiers of science and technology.
In the first two events of 2021, experts in the field of chips, Wei Shaojun, director of the Institute of Microelectronics of Tsinghua University and Lu Bai, professor and brain scientist of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Tsinghua University, were invited to lecture.
Every year, "E-Town College" selects and invites top scientists who are at the forefront of science and technology in the world to serve as keynote speakers, and hold a series of lectures to let the public enjoy the fun of science and technology.
As the first speaker of 2021 "E-Town College", Wei Shaojun gave a speech on the theme of "Innovation Drives the Development of China's Chips", and taught a "chip class" that covered the birth of chip technology, the manufacturing process of integrated circuit chips, and the major changes in China's chip industry.
In the afternoon, Lu Bai gave a speech on the theme of "Brain and Me", leading the audience to re-understand the new world of "brain energy".
What is brain science? How did brain science transform to artificial intelligence, and what opportunities and challenges did it encounter? If the popular deep learning is not true artificial intelligence, then what kind of true artificial intelligence will eventually surpass the human brain? Lu Bai answered these questions one by one.
In 2021, "E-Town College" has determined to conduct four courses, not only to include speeches on the chip and screen industry, but also to cover the fields of life science and brain science and related matters.
More than a hundred activities of the 'Southeast Capital' Science and Technology Art Festival will continue to be staged, awakening the city's innovative power through a series of cross-border integration according to the relevant person in charge of the BDA.
