The "2021 National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week" with the theme of "Creative Innovation Wins the Future" was launched in Beijing E-Town on Oct 20.

This year's series of activities include an opening ceremony, a main forum and several featured exhibitions.

Since the beginning of this year, enterprises in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) have invested 20.61 billion yuan ($3.23 billion) in R&D, a year-on-year increase of 26.59 percent; 

1,683 invention patents were granted, a year-on-year increase of 75.31 percent; 474 PCT patents were applied, a year-on-year increase of 61.22 percent.

In the 2020 list of Beijing Science and Technology award winners, a total of 13 enterprises and individuals in the BDA won the award. 

Among the 285 outstanding companies in Beijing in 2021, 40 are from the BDA, accounting for 14.4 percent.

At the opening ceremony, the awards ceremony of the 2021 Beijing E-Town Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition's five-track award-winning project, the 2021 Deloitte·E-Town High-tech High-Growth Top 20, and the 2021 National Outstanding Enterprises in the BDA took place one by one.

As a significant part of the opening ceremony, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economics and Information Technology, the representatives of the BDA and other departments unveils the prologue of E-Town Venue of the "2021 National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week".

Since the launch of the special week in 2015, "Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creation" has sparked intense fire across the country. 

The BDA has held six such activities, each with more than 1,000 participating companies and over 10,000 participants. 

A large number of high-quality enterprises and outstanding talents demonstrate their strength, connect resources, promote cooperation, and accelerate growth through the platform.
