BDA's experience in realizing peak carbon, carbon neutrality
To attain China's carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) is guiding a large number of enterprises to explore carbon peaking and carbon neutrality plans and striving to build green factories, products, and supply chains.
The BDA enterprise HollySys recently signed a contract to use carbon dioxide to produce green methanol for the first time in China, and CETC Beijing Electronic Equipment Co., Ltd. is assisting XPeng Motors's roof photovoltaics to smoothly connect to the grid.
Hanghe Company, a subsidiary of Hollysys, and Anyang Shunli Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Henan Shuncheng Group, successfully signed a project to form methanol with carbon dioxide hydrogenation.
After the project is put into production, it is estimated that 360 million cubic meters of coke oven gas can be utilized each year, 110,000 tons of methanol can be produced annually, and 70,000 tons of LNG can be co-produced every year, reducing CO2 emissions by 44 million cubic meters each year.
While Hollysys and Anyang successfully signed an environmental protection contract, the photovoltaic power station project of XPeng Motors Industrial Park, a key project supplied by CETC Electronic Equipment, was successfully connected to the grid.
The project uses the roof of the XPeng Motors Industrial Park for the construction of photovoltaic power stations.
It uses a mode known as "spontaneous generation and self-use, surplus electricity to the grid" that is equivalent to saving 11,879 tons of standard coal each year. The project's annual power generation is about 33 million kWh.
The project not only contributes to energy saving, but also has considerable economic benefits, generating about 20 million yuan ($3.13 million) in economic benefits each year.
