BDA starts journey of cultural prosperity
Beijing E-Town Innovation released "Cultural Development Plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) Period" on Nov 18.
According to the plan, the key task of the BDA's cultural development during the next five years is to build five "characteristic zones": a demonstration zone for advanced socialist culture, a national innovative culture pilot area, a national model area integrating culture, humanities and science, a world-class public cultural service area, and a frontier area for foreign cultural exchanges.
The BDA will also hold the Southeast Capital event, optimize the E-Town College new technology exchange platform for cutting-edge technologies, and expand enterprises in the Beijing E-Town Science and Technology Museum from 50 to 100.
The BDA recently organized a professional archaeological excavation team to explore Beijing E-Town based on the distribution of cultural relics. It has also carried out the city's first regional biodiversity background survey within an area of 225 square kilometers.
Within that area a number of industrial clusters have mushroomed and the cultural industry space has begun to take shape.
For example, the China (Beijing) High-tech Audio-visual Industrial Park started construction as scheduled, Beijing's online game new technology application center was listed, cloud game industry projects were deployed, the Beijing Smart E-sports Center was launched, and Beijing's digital technology media industrial park was built.
According to statistics, as of the third quarter of this year, the income of cultural industries above designated size in the BDA exceeded 40 billion yuan ($6.26 billion), an increase of nearly 10 billion yuan over the same period last year, and the growth rate exceeded 30 percent.
The industrial scale ranked sixth in the city and the average income of cultural enterprises above designated size reached 647 million yuan, about three times the city's average level.
