The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) recently released its economic development data from January to October 2021. 

The total industrial output value of Beijing E-Town in the first 10 months was 501.88 billion yuan ($78.8 billion), a year-on-year increase of 29.1 percent, of which the total industrial output value of the BDA reached 467.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.2 percent.

After years of development, Chipone North now has a relatively complete layout in various display fields, among which it ranks first in the field of LED display driver chips. Chipone North's 2020 revenue amounted to 2.4 billion yuan and is expected to exceed 6 billion yuan this year.

In addition, in the first 10 months, the output value of five companies, including Xiaomi Electronics and SMIC North, all achieved a year-on-year growth rate of more than 40 percent, and the entire new generation of information technology industry achieved an output value of 87.86 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.2 percent.

The biotechnology and massive health industries also maintained a high output value growth rate.

The output value of the biotechnology and massive health industries in the first 10 months was 156.25 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.1 times. The growth rate of 15 companies, including Tide and Varian Medical, exceeded 50 percent.

Behind the accelerated formation of leading industrial clusters, the rapid growth of industrial investment was an important driving force. From January to October, Yizhuang New City completed industrial investment with a year-on-year increase of 98.6%, completed 52 industrial projects with an investment of more than 100 million yuan, and completed an investment of 31.1 billion yuan, accounting for 90.7% of the industrial investment.

In addition, the world's first networked cloud-controlled high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone, which opened in the BDA, has now entered its second stage, achieving full coverage of 300 pieces of digital intelligent intersection infrastructure in the first 10 months.

From January to October, the output value of the BDA's high-tech manufacturing enterprises amounted to 244.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 102.2 percent, and their growth rate was 71.3 percentage points higher than that of the entire area.

The number of national high-tech enterprises reached 1,428, of which enterprises above designated size achieved an output value of 223.32 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times, accounting for nearly half of the total industrial output value above designated size in the region.
