Ten BDA firms make it to global unicorn list
The Hurun Research Institute recently released the "2021 Global Unicorns List", which compiles companies established after 2000 and with a value of more than $1 billion.
The deadline for valuation calculations was Nov 30, 2021.
Among them, 10 companies in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) are on the list, namely, JD.com, Bitmain, Amy Vaccine, Yitang Semiconductor, JD Industrial Products, Eswell, Blue Arrow Aerospace, Mabworks, CapitalBio Technology,and Jiuxian.com.
According to statistics, there are 1,058 unicorn companies worldwide this year, and 301 companies in China are selected.
Among them, Beijing ranks first in China with 91 unicorns, the BDA accounts for 10, and JD Technology ranks first in China's top 10 unicorn companies
Hurun, chairman and chief research officer of Hurun Report, mentioned that it takes an average of only eight years for unicorn companies to reach a valuation of $1 billion.
From the time of establishment, among the listed companies in the BDA, six companies have grown into unicorns in eight years or less.
In the fields of biomedicine and massive health industry, three BDA enterprises were selected.
The BDA has established an innovative development service system for the entire chain of the biopharmaceutical industry to help more and more small and medium-sized enterprises develop rapidly.
