Incense-making highlights 'Dialogue with Da Vinci' exhibit
The immersive light and shadow art exhibition Time Treasures - Dialogue with Da Vinci at the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) on Jan 18, 2022 was filled with refreshing aroma of herbs.
Here, an activity involving incense-making was unveiled.
Learn about Chinese traditional incense-making techniques, know natural spices, experience the grinding process of incense powder, and learn how to weave the diamond knot.
Participants dressed in traditional costumes followed Luo Zijie, an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage project to learn how to make traditional handmade sachets.
The event venue is located in the Ming and Qing Dynasties Art Exhibition Hall on the second floor of the BDA.
The exhibition hall displays pieces of art from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties corresponding to the era of Da Vinci.
According to Fan Yaping, artistic director of the exhibition, the setting of the art exhibition aims to allow visitors to experience the beauty of art in the "dialogue" between Chinese and Western art, and deepen the perception of traditional Chinese culture.
The immersive light and shadow art exhibition is one of the annual closing activities of the first "Southeast Capital" Science and Technology Art Festival in the BDA.
The exhibition will continue until Feb 11, and tickets can be purchased on APPs or small programs such as Shangyicheng, Damai.com, and Maoyan.
