BDA ushers in new opportunities with 14th Five-Year Plan
A number of ministries and commissions have released their development plans during the "14th Five-Year" (2021-25) period recently.
Many of them are related to science and technology and bringing new opportunities for the development of cutting-edge industries in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA).
The 14th Five-Year National Informatization Plan has made arrangements for the development of informatization in China during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period from 2021 to 2025. It points out that by 2025, decisive progress will be made in the construction of digital China, and the level of informatization development will jump significantly.

The BDA accelerates the development of the digital economy. In 2022, the pioneering global digital economy benchmark cities will be built here.
In addition, the "14th Five-Year Plan for Medical Equipment Industry Development" pointed out that by 2025, mainstream medical equipment will provide effective supply, and the performance and quality of high-end medical equipment products will be significantly improved.
The BDA focuses on deploying innovation around the biopharmaceutical industry, laying out the service chain, and takes the lead in building a full-link service system for the industry in the fields of biomedicine and health industries.
The "14th Five-Year Plan for High-Quality Development of Foreign Trade" proposes to focus on "enhancing the comprehensive strength of trade, deepening opening and cooperation, and optimizing the structure of trade in goods.

The BDA continues to improve its level of opening to the outside world, and will introduce special policies this year to encourage foreign-funded enterprises to reinvest in China.
The area will also build a domestic and foreign exchange platform, organize the World Robot Conference, the World 5G Conference, the Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum, and the National Biomedical Conference.
Besides, the BDA has also set up Beijing's first free trade intellectual property protection sub-center to open up the entire chain of intellectual property creation, utilization, protection, management and service.
The 14th Five-Year Industrial Green Development Plan issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology proposes that by 2025, China's industrial structure and production mode will achieve remarkable results in the green and low-carbon transformation.
The BDA will also accelerate green and low-carbon development, continue to promote the construction of "no-waste cities" and lead industrial parks to build national standards for "no-waste cities”.
The area will Implement a special action plan for carbon emission reduction and carbon neutrality, and establish a dual control mechanism for the total amount and intensity of carbon emissions.
